Spinel is 8 on the Mohs scale and comes in a rainbow of colors. The red spinel is often mistaken for a very clean Ruby. It is a stone of renewal and rejuvination, balancing and energizing the body. All chakras are touched by spinel relative to the color. Blues heal the throat chakra; pink - the heart, purples - the crown.
