Ruby is a corundum and is 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. It's hardness is second only to Diamond. There are varying shades of red and varying clarities with Ruby. They shield, purify and transmute. Rubies can be used to cleanse and detox the body, and improve circulation, especially around the heart chakra area.
